PSC100 chair encourages public sector caterers to use British food on 2022 menus

10th Jan 2022 - 09:12
Abstract
Andy Jones, chair of the PSC 100 Group, released a short video encouraging caterers in the public sector to use British food and drinks on their 2022 menus.

Launched in 2011, the PSC100 Group comprises caterers, dietitians, politicians, healthy eating campaigners and suppliers who operate in the public sector and use their collective 'clout' to drive government legislation and action towards helping people adopt healthier lifestyles through catering and education initiatives.

Jones said: “[We need to] get more British food onto our public sector menus. Make this the year that we don’t just talk about it but we actually do it and deliver it. The people at Love British Food have got some great initiatives going and we need to really drive this in now.

“We’ve got the new public government buying standards which are going to be launched this year which I’m proud to be involved in. I really do think we need to support our British farmers, our producers, our growers [and] our fisherman.  Go the extra mile, support our farmers and really make this the year that we deliver.”
