Abstract
Thomas Ridley has launched a range of IDDSI (International Dysphagia Diet Standardisation Initiative)-compliant meals ahead of National Swallowing Awareness Day (16 March).
The Mrs Gill’s range delivers IDDSI compliant texture modified meals made with real ingredients. No artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, just nutritious, natural food that looks as good as it tastes.
Providing both trayed meals and a range of bulk individual portions containing 30 servings per bag, Mrs Gill’s products are specially designed for care homes to offer a bespoke pureed meal tailored to residents’ needs and helping to reduce food waste.
The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists estimate that between 50% to 75% percent of nursing home residents have a ‘swallowing disorder’ or dysphagia.
