This means that over half of the 330ml bottles will be made out of RPET (recycled plastic), which has a lower carbon footprint than virgin PET, and are fully recyclable.
Despite a slight difference in the colour of the bottles as they stand, the company said suppliers are “working hard to try and make them a little clearer” but this won’t affect the taste or quality of the product.
Managing director William Watkins commented: “We are very proud as a business to have taken this next step towards a more sustainable future and we hope this encourages more people to recycle their plastic bottles.
“The use of RPET saves raw materials, reduces waste and creates a better environment for us all.”
The company said it is also working its suppliers “to create a closed loop system for all waste created on site where possible.”
