Abstract
Belgian pastry producer, Pidy, is set to launch 4cm gluten free tartelettes in January, “in an effort to cater for consumers with food allergies and healthier eating.”

Claiming the neutral-flavoured pastry is the “ideal size” for “lighter eating habits” combined with the use of “popular” free from ingredients, Pidy said the tartelettes can be filled with both sweet and savoury products, and “follows the success of (its) existing gluten free range.”

Fabien Levet, national account manager of foodservice at Pidy UK, commented: “Offering a range of gluten free options has become an expectation, which is why our new 4cm tartelettes offer exceptional versatility for chefs across the foodservice industry.

“As an extension to our existing range of gluten free products, caterers can be confident in offering a host of delicious dishes across each element of their menu. Our gluten free pastry has such a fantastic taste, texture and an authentic, rustic look; it can easily be used for all diners, with or without gluten intolerances. The buttery taste of our pastry is neutral, lending itself equally well to both savoury and sweet fillings.”
