Frozen food distributor Central Foods will be showcasing its tasty, plant-based meat-swap options at this year’s LACA Main Event. The company has created a range of products that are nutritious and competitively priced to help school caterers balance the budget.
On show this year will be the new KaterVeg! mini cocktail vegan sausage rolls, which, at 15g, are ideal for primary schoolchildren or as part of a buffet for school events. Also being showcased are the new and improved recipe KaterVeg! vegan and gluten-free sausages and the KaterVeg! vegan and gluten-free vegetable burgers, both of which are full of tasty vegetables and proven winners with children.
Gordon Lauder, managing director of Central Foods, says: “Our KaterVeg! range of products is ideal for schools – providing nutritious and value for money options to help school caterers overcome some of the challenges they currently face.
“The ingredients of plant-based dishes can be more cost-effective than meat-based meals and also more environmentally friendly. Scrutinising the ingredients of meals and making clever swaps is one way that schools can both reduce their carbon footprint and cut their costs.”
School food providers can register to attend the LACA School Food Show free of charge.
