Abstract
Lion’s Piri Piri range have been improved to reduce salt content and made simpler for restaurants to use in their favourite recipes.

Fuelled by social media trends, hot sauces are all the rage from hot sauce festivals to hot sauce inspired fashions. Experts think the rise is in part due to thrill seeking diners looking for a quick and easy dopamine hit during the cost of living crisis.

Sarah Lesser-Moor, brand manager at Lion Sauces, commented: “At times when diners are having to rein in spending, hot foods are an easy – and delicious – way to get a dopamine hit. Ensuring you have a variety of spicy dishes on your menu makes sure you’re keeping your dishes on trend.

“One of the most popular hot sauce varieties on the UK market is Piri Piri. Using African bird's eye chilli peppers, they are blended with delicious flavours like lemon, garlic, herbs and vinegar to create beautifully spiced sauces – from mild and delicate to seriously spicy.

“With the Piri Piri trend in mind, Lion has developed a range of delicious Piri Piri hot sauces – with a punchy on-trend Garlic Piri Piri Sauce brand new for 2024. This additional completes our range, alongside new recipes for the rest of our Piri Piri Sauces - including Hot Piri Piri, Medium Piri Piri, Original Piri Piri and Lemon and Herb Piri Piri recipes – meaning there’s a sauce for every pallet.”
