Kenneth Axen, managing director, Futura Foods, said: “Christmas is without doubt one of the most profitable times of the year but with competition on the highstreet hotter than ever, it has never been more important for operators to ensure their menus stand out.
“When it comes to creating a cheeseboard, there is a huge variety of cheeses to choose from yet often caterers are tempted into serving the same selection year after year.
“For Christmas 2016, why not do different and add a continental cheese to your offering. Gorgonzola, for example, is a great, creamier alternative to Stilton, whilst the unique tang of Taleggio will add a real point of difference to any cheeseboard.
“Serve with plenty of crackers and if you’re worried about retaining a traditional Christmas feel, leftover cranberry sauce is a great alternative to more conventional chutneys.”
The range includes Greek, Cypriot, Italian, Spanish and Northern European cheeses from carefully selected partner dairies across Europe.
