Festive herb and spice blends

Looking to upgrade your Christmas recipes this year? EHL Ingredients’ six brand new herb and spice blends might be just what you’re after.

Launched by the company’s dedicated foodservice division, Lähde, the new variants are all vegan-friendly and suitable for a range of sweet and savoury dishes, and favourite festive drinks.

 

Available now to chefs, caterers and foodservice operators, the new blends include:

  • Beef – black pepper, chilli, cumin and coriander
  • Game – fennel, black pepper and juniper
  • Fish – lemon, pink peppercorns, dill, paprika and cumin
  • Vegetable - roast cauliflower: cumin, paprika, turmeric and black pepper
  • Sweet spice – cinnamon, allspice, cloves, nutmeg, black pepper and ginger
  • Gluhwein – cassia, ginger root, nutmeg, star anise, allspice and black pepper

 

The company said these festive blends are designed to add “alternative flavours and textures to Christmas dinners, and tap into consumers’ love of world cuisine.”

 

EHL Ingredients new product development manager, Kath Davies, added: “We know that not everyone chooses a turkey for Christmas dinner with many consumers opting for beef, game, fish, as well as vegetarian and vegan alternatives.

 

“Modern Brits’ tastes are changing and people are looking for variety, new and interesting flavour combinations, and unusual dishes at Christmas. Foodservice outlets should offer alternatives to traditional turkey dinners and our new blends allow them to develop appealing dishes to suit modern palates.
