Abstract
Over the past 12 months, Cooldelight Desserts have been undertaking an NPD project, which involves the development of high calorific vanilla ice cream, aimed at Patient Services usage in the NHS and Care or Nursing Homes.
The product itself is a 4 oz (120 mls ) vanilla ice cream insulated tub (82g in weight ), which yields 160 calories per individual tub.
Cooldelights are now launching the ice creams into the UK foodservice market, with a particular aim at the ‘nutritionally vulnerable’, for instance NHS hospitals, care homes, nursing homes, residential homes and private hospitals.
