Abstract
Public Sector Catering asked a professional chef with long experience in foodservice to put some of the latest plant-based products to the test.
The texture was good and it had a quite distinct flavour of peas, but it was also nicely spiced and this helped. As with the burger I had to turn them to brown them better. It cooked easily, but would need to be served some sauce and garnish to improve the product.
Cooked them two ways - grill and oven – but this did not alter anything. Nutritionally you would need to eat three of them and some may not like this. NOTE: The packaging describes the product as vegan but the listing on the website does not, so this needs updating online.
