The range, which marks Anglia Crown’s 30th anniversary, includes smoked haddock Florentine pasta in a creamy spinach cheese sauce with penne pasta, and red cabbage as well as a ginger chocolate chip sponge.
The current desire to move more towards plant-based foods has seen the Crown Choice vegetarian menu extended over recent years to include new dishes such as potatoes & soya in peri peri sauce and soya-based shepherd’s pie and pasta bolognaise. One third of the vegetarian range has been registered with the Vegan Society and carry their logo as a sign of authenticity.
The frozen Crown Choice product range has been updated to meet with current demand and includes the addition of pork meatballs in a sweet and spicy chipotle sauce and a diced Butternut squash side accompaniment as well as three mentioned earlier.
Company dietitian Ruth Smith, commented: “Whenever we update our product range, we always look to reflect current trends. There is a definite move towards plant-based foods which we have considered in these menus, which we believe will prove to be very popular.”
