Abstract
Muesli brand Alpen has reduced the size of its cases sold to caterers in the hospitality sector, in response to the growing issue of stock control.

With hospitality venues increasingly complaining about limited storage space, Alpen cases now hold thirty 50g sachets per box, rather than 50 as per before.

National food service account manager at Weetabix Food Group, Sarah Morris, said: “The decision to reduce our case sizes comes from our commitment to meeting the needs of the food service industry. At Alpen, we understand that hotels, pubs and other hospitality venues are a key stream of revenue for wholesalers, and as the industry evolves we always seek to evolve our products to meet its needs.”

The cereal brand also claims to have reduced pack sizes to allow hospitality operators a more flexible solution to stock a range of options for guests, to keep up with changing consumer habits.

Morris added: “This decision also creates an exciting new opportunity for Alpen to be sold in smaller hospitality venues such as boutique hotels and guest houses with notoriously limited storage space.”

The new case sizes will be available in both Original and No-Added Sugar mueslis.
