Abstract
Young’s Foodservice is encouraging caterers and teachers to use its new, online micro site designed for schools, in response to the news that 18% of children between five and seven-years-old believe fish fingers are made from chicken.

The online resource includes recipes, educational factsheets, and a Q&A section for caterers.

Adrian Greaves, foodservice director at Young’s Foodservice, said: “We are very excited about the launch of our new micro-site which will be a valuable resource for school caterers across the country.

“The site includes exciting features which we hope will not only prove useful in getting children more engaged about seafood but also encourage them to eat more fish.”

The micro-site, which also includes product specifications, has been launched by Young’s Foodservice as part of its commitment to the education sector.

The news that 18% of five to seven-year-olds are unaware of the meat in fish fingers comes from a survey conducted by the British Nutrition Foundation.
