It is being developed to help everyone in the hospitality and food service sector learn essential food waste reduction skills, building on the good practice tools and techniques that many will already be familiar with.
Called ‘Guardians of Grub: Becoming a Champion’, the new online course is now ready to enter its pilot phase, and WRAP is looking for people who can help to test it.
Individuals and teams can volunteer to complete the course at their own pace. It takes learners through a step-by-step, practical process to help caterers avoid the cost of wasted food.
It is being designed by online training experts, as well as sector professionals, and takes an ‘active learning’ approach so that participants will receive regular progress reports and takeaway tools and techniques to help apply food waste reduction practices to real-life situations.
Every learner will receive a Guardians of Grub: Becoming a Champion certificate for each level completed.
To sign up or simply to find out more, email WRAP with your full name, position, organisation and the potential number of users you can commit. You will then be sent details of the ‘how-to’ webinars taking place in July and August.
