Abstract
Medical aid has been delivered to people in Eastern Ukraine, funded by a BM's Golden Hearts Gala Dinner which raised over £40,000 last year.

The aid, which consists of delivery of 600 Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) and trauma training for more than 100 people based in Poltava, is part of BM’s ongoing efforts to support the people of Ukraine.

The Golden Hearts Gala Dinner was a collaboration between BM Caterers, Hogan Lovells and Ellis Wines. It took place on 6th October in London with a menu by Adam Byatt, chef-patron of Michelin-starred Trinity in Clapham and consultant chef at BM. Funds were raised through ticket sales as well as a live auction.

Angus Brydon, managing director of BM, said: “The Ukrainians who are fighting for their country are faced with unimaginable odds and have already suffered losses both civilian and military – one unit in Poltava of 600 men had lost 80 during their last time at the front. Unexploded ordnance can lead to volunteers and civilians losing limbs, so the need for direct medical aid and training support in Ukraine is urgent.

“Our committee thankfully has direct links and logistical support in Ukraine so all funds can be accounted for and go directly towards providing aid on-the-ground. The Ukrainians are fighting this war for all of us – we cannot afford to let brutality rule.”
