WKC student wins Caterer and Licensee Student Chef of the Year

The winning chef, who is a third year professional chef diploma student, was assisted by student Ben Arnold, who acted as his commis chef in the competition. The WKC Culinary Arts & Hospitality team achieved 13 Best in Class, 14 Gold, 18 Silver, 7 Bronze, and 6 Merit awards. Highlights of the competition were first year chef student, Tessa Clingham, who was awarded a Gold and a Silver award for vegetable cuts and fish preparation in her first ever culinary competition, second year chef student, Harry Williams, who picked up a Gold for restaurant starters, and Ben Arnold, a third year student, who scooped a Gold award for restaurant plates. Gary Hunter, head of culinary arts at WKC, commented: "We were very pleased with the performance of the College competition team at the Wessex Salon.
