The WKC Culinary Arts & Hospitality team achieved 13 Best in Class, 14 Gold, 18 Silver, 7 Bronze, and 6 Merit awards. Highlights of the competition were first year chef student, Tessa Clingham, who was awarded a Gold and a Silver award for vegetable cuts and fish preparation in her first ever culinary competition, second year chef student, Harry Williams, who picked up a Gold for restaurant starters, and Ben Arnold, a third year student, who scooped a Gold award for restaurant plates. Gary Hunter, head of culinary arts at WKC, commented: "We were very pleased with the performance of the College competition team at the Wessex Salon. The standard of the competition was incredibly high and our student chefs were competing against other colleges and industry-based chefs from hotels and restaurants." Weblink: www.westking.ac.uk
