Abstract
CEDA rolled out the red carpet at the St George’s Park Hilton, Burton-upon-Trent last week to host its annual Grand Prix awards ceremony.

Amongst the winners was CHR Equipment’s recently retired managing director Ron Neville who was the recipient of the Industry Personality Award.

Adam Mason, CEDA director general, said: “Ron has without doubt left his mark on CEDA and a strong legacy in CHR as his son Paul Neville now takes over from his father. On the night the impact Ron has made on so many people was palpable in the room with huge applause, smiles and a few tears.

"Ron's dedication to his company, employees and family really shone through at the awards and this was complemented by CEDA's award for the industry's Rising Star in 2016. The Rising Star Award was a tough one to judge and to make the final decision to award it to Callum Kennedy from GastroNorth given the amazing young talent from CNG, ScoMac and Gratte Brothers that was hot on his heels."

Guests also raised £4560 for Hospitality Action on the night plus £500 for the Cancer Research JustGiving page for the late Peter Hansen.

Mason added: “Our 2016 Grand Prix awards saw a high level of entries with a wide variety of projects ranging from high-end restaurants to retailers and major hospitality venues. What are always consistent are the creative and supportive approaches that our members use in handling these projects.

“On the night C&C Catering Equipment came away as the worthy Overall Winner from their entry in the Medium Projects category for a fantastic kitchen for Michelin starred chef Gareth Ward at Ynyshir Hall Country House Hotel."
