Wine Faults Workshop

26th Mar 2009 - 00:00
Abstract
For the fourth year running, the London International Wine Fair will be featuring a Wine Faults Workshop run by independent scientist and wine-maker Pascal Chatonnet that will examine the most common faults found in wines today.
On 13 May Chatonnet will be flying in from Bordeaux to London's ExCel to give a morning seminar lasting 90 minutes in Waterfront Room 27 & 28, beginning at 11am. This year the focus will be on the level of sulphur compounds. Delegates will be able to nose or taste. Chatonnet explained: "There is no such thing as a perfect closure. But today we know that different ones will have a different impact upon the wine and its positive evolution. With so many options available, making the right closure choice is now even more crucial for the winemaker to achieve the quality they intend for their wines." The workshop, sponsored by Amorim cork producers, will seat a total of 90 people. Admission is free, but by ticket only which can be obtained in advance from fionaccampbell@btopenworld.com
