Abstract
Westminster Kingsway College in London has announced a new partnership with the Craft Guild of Chefs to support young chefs working in the industry while developing their skills.

The new partnership for the part-time courses in Professional Cookery and Patisserie & Confectionery will give young chefs working in the industry the opportunity to become members of the Craft Guild of Chefs while they are undertaking their training at the college, giving them access to the networking and development opportunities offered by the guild.

Craft Guild chairman Christopher Basten said: “The Craft Guild of Chefs is synonymous with culinary excellence and the aim is to increase standards of professional cooking through greater awareness, education and training. We are delighted to be working with Westminster Kingsway College and supporting the chefs of the future.”

Gary Hunter, head of faculty for hospitality and culinary arts at Westminster Kingsway College, commented: “We have an excellent relationship with the Craft Guild of Chefs which gives our students the chance to participate in many competitions and develop their networks and skills in the industry.

“The Craft Guild of Chefs partnership with our part-time professional chef courses gives those students who are developing their skills while working in the industry a unique opportunity to become part of this network and feel supported in building a lasting career in hospitality.

“Westminster Kingsway College is passionate that we deliver more than just a standard qualification to our students which is why we want to give additional value to our students in every aspect of our courses.”

Westminster Kingsway College is currently recruiting for these part-time professional chef courses starting from September 2014. For further information, visit www.westking.ac.uk
