It will be chaired by Baroness Jenkin of Kennington, vice chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Obesity, and speakers include Jane Flint from Health Education England, Susannah Howard, of the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System, Siobhan O’Mahony, nutritionist and school food adviser with Leeds City Council, Dr Neel Basudev of Lambeth CCG and Zoe Griffiths of Weight Watchers.
Key areas for discussion will be:
* Primary care - priorities for lifestyle management support including identifying those most at risk;
* Integrating support services across local health systems;
* Childhood weight - developing online resources and local authority, school, community services and third sector strategies to support children and their families;
* Public information - what can be learned from past public health campaigns and how they can inform messages on weight management and obesity;
* Innovation - accessibility and usability for patients;
* The weight loss and food and drink industries - and their role in supporting safe management of healthy weight;
* The NHS Health Check Review - increasing uptake and more personalised interventions from the service;
* Health inequalities - accessing weight management support in deprived areas and across society.
The four-hour programme including comfort breaks, discussion involving key policymakers and stakeholders, speakers presenting via webcam, and opportunities for live delegate questions and comments with all speakers.
