Waste2zero awards open for entries
Abstract
The 2019 waste2zero awards are open for entries to recognise ‘excellence’ in waste management for the foodservice industry.

Food waste is one of the biggest challenges to the foodservice and the hospitality industry. Around one million tonnes of food is wasted every year and 75% of this is ‘avoidable.’

There are also 1.3 million tonnes of packaging and 0.66 tonnes of other non-food waste that is discarded every year. Food waste is not only a problem in the UK but all over the world as one third of the food produced globally goes to waste.

The aim of waste2zero is to encourage organisations to take the food waste issue more seriously and to get involved with its prevention at business level.

There are several awards including the Best Recycling Project Award, the Best Resource Management Business of the Year and the Special Achievement Award.

The winners will be announced at the Awards Dinner to be held at the In & Out Club, London on Thursday 10 October 2019.

The entry deadline is 12 August. For more information or to enter follow: https://www.foodservicefootprint.com/waste2zero/
