Abstract
A relatively unknown pizzeria in London has beaten 144 nominations spanning 30 countries to be named the ‘Tasiest Fast Feast in the World’ at the inaugural Chowzter Awards.

Story Deli in London’s east end took on competition from all over the world including Tokyo, Rome and Manhattan to win, not only the pizza category, but the headline award of the night.

Owner Lee Hollingworth was at the reception to collect the accolade which celebrates his pizzas made with 100% organic ingredients.

The Story Deli pizza margherita is the house favourite, featuring tomato and basil in two ways: smashed cherry tomatoes and rich passata, basil oil and fresh basil pesto, and finally buffalo mozzarella.

Other winners in the seven Chowzter categories (pizzas, burgers, curry, fried or roast chicken, sandwiches, sausage and tacos) spanned all corners of the globe, and winners included the mutton vindaloo from Ritz Classic in India, the cheeseburger at Louis Lunch in Connecticut, and fried chicken from HanChu in Seoul.

Meanwhile, other big winners of the night were Tuba Şatana from Istanbul Food, which won ‘the outstanding contribution award’, and Hanoi, which was named ‘foodiest city’ in the world.

Hosted by actor and comedian Alexander Armstrong and supported by Coca Cola, the Chowzter awards were held at East London’s Village Underground, with numerous foodie personalities including Russell Norman, Giles Coren and Angela Hartnett presenting the awards in the seven categories.
