The Government Construction Strategy (GCS) stipulates that all government projects will require 3D Building Information Modelling (BIM) as a minimum by next year.
Designing, manufacturing and fitting a range of kitchen equipment that ‘keeps hot food hot and cold food cold’, Victor has produced BIM compliant 3D drawings and electronic asset information for 400 models across its Optimax, Synergy, Banquetline and Ambassador ranges, as well as general purpose hot cupboards, kitchen servery gantries and plate dispensers.
This will enable architects, designers and kitchen planners to incorporate Victor products easily when specifying and designing kitchens.
Andrew Gibson, sales director, said: “The introduction of BIM has significant implications for our business as we deliver catering equipment to a range of public sector organisations including hospitals and educational establishments.
“Similarly, we know that BIM is becoming more widely used on private sector projects by architects and main contractors keen to utilise its efficiency savings.
“To support our core business and demonstrate to designers, consultants and distributors that our products meet these standards, we have produced accurate, reliable 3D models of our most popular ‘off the shelf’ products. Other ranges are currently undergoing product development and will be added to the CESABIM library on an ongoing basis."
