The donation is part of a 12 months of fundraising campaign by Grazing on behalf of Magic Breakfast. For every breakfast order received by Grazing in 2023, ten breakfasts have been donated to feed children at risk of starting the day hungry.
An estimated 4m children (almost a third of the UK’s child population) are at risk of starting the day hungry, a figure that has risen by 1.4m since April 2022. Magic Breakfast believes a hungry child cannot concentrate, putting them in danger of missing out on crucial learning each day.
Magic Breakfast was set up to solve this problem by providing filling and nutritious breakfasts to more than 200,000 UK children.
Sam Hurst, chief executive of Grazing, said: “We have a long-standing tradition of making a charity donation each Christmas instead of giving each other presents and cards within the office and this festive season it'll be to Magic Breakfast, which we’ve been fundraising for across the year.
“It’s a cause that’s really close to our hearts. As a food business we believe everyone should have access to delicious, healthy food, especially children, and it’s our responsibility to do what we can as a business to help combat child hunger.”
