Abstract
Hospitality company Green & Fortune has launched a new addition to its portfolio that will see it market and cater for a set of six event spaces at Sea Containers building on London’s South Bank where its client the marketing firm Ogily & Mather has offices.

John Nugent, Green & Fortune’s chief executive, said: “The Sea Containers building is remarkable, with extraordinary views and impressive facilities, so we needed to create a product - food, drink and service - that could match the phenomenal setting.

“Sea Containers Events is taking an innovative approach to catering, and know that the customer experience is going to be exceptional and memorable.”

Situated on the 12th and 13th floors, each area offers floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Thames which Nugent said made it one of the most enviable options for private dining, drinks or business functions.

Sea Containers Events offers six spaces - spread over 25,000 square feet - capable of hosting numbers from 10 to 120 for dinners, cocktail receptions for 250, or an amphitheatre for presentations up to 200, and exclusive hire is available on application for larger hospitality events.

Nugent said the food and drink offer would British seasonality and provenance, with sourcing from independent suppliers, including selected meat cuts from Green & Fortune’s own farm in Northumberland.

“Other creative options include live cooking and seafood stations with chefs front and centre to encourage guest interaction.

“We have adopted a spirited yet attentive service culture which reinforces Green & Fortune’s consistently fresh approach to informal but professional entertaining.”

An on-site baker creates afternoon cakes, biscuits and other sweet treats that can also be taken away by guests. Cocktails, too, can be designed on a bespoke basis by the in-house mixologist, depending on the event, and there is an excellent international wine list available.

Nugent launched Green & Fortune and Kings Place Events specifically for Kings Place in 2008, having previously worked as chief executive of Searcy’s.

The company operates Kings Place Events, the Green & Fortune and Rotunda Bar & Restaurant, all located in Kings Place.

In 2016, Green & Fortune commenced an agreement with Ogilvy & Mather to oversee all hospitality and catering at the company’s Sea Containers site, including a second Green & Fortune alongside Cucumber Bar and Bistro and Sunset Bar & Cafe.
