University of West London honours leading figures in hospitality industry

Abstract
The University of West London’s (UWL) London School of Hospitality and Tourism has honoured some of the biggest names in the industry at a special awards ceremony at the Hilton London Heathrow Airport Terminal 5 Hotel on March 14.

In both the profit and cost sectors, there were recipients. In the cost sector Wendy Bartlett, managing director, Bartlett & Mitchell, was awarded the honour of Master of Business Administration, while restaurant leading lights included chef Heston Blumenthal; restaurateurs Jeremy King and Chris Corbin; Claridge’s general manager Thomas Kochs; and Fred Sirieix, general manager of Galvin at Windows.

Professor David Foskett, head of the London School of Hospitality and Tourism, said: “We are acknowledging the immense achievements of these honorary award winners. Their support of the university and our students is invaluable. Prizes were also awarded to our best performing students as they develop into the industry leaders of tomorrow.”

Jane Milton, food industry expert – Master of Business Administration (Hon MBA)
Thomas Kochs, general manager, Claridge’s – Master of Business Administration (Hon MBA)
Stuart Johnson, general manager, Brown’s Hotel – Master of Science (Hon MSc)
Stephen Scuffell, executive chef, Crown Moran Hotel Cricklewood, and Craft Guild of Chefs vice president – Master of Science (Hon MSc)
Harry Murray, chairman, Lucknam Park Hotel & Spa – Master of Business Administration (Hon MBA)

The event also recognised the achievements of the best performing students at the prestigious School. These included students from Airline and Airport Management, Hospitality Management, Business Travel and Tourism and Event Management to name just a few.
