Abstract
The University of Surrey’s Hospitality and Leisure Management course has been ranked 4th place in the QS World University Subject Rankings for 2018.

This follows the School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at the university achieving a top-five ranking and five stars in the most recent QS World University Rankings.

The school is currently ranked number one in both the Guardian University Guide 2017 and the Complete University Guide 2017 and is ranked in the top five globally for its publications.

Professor Graham Miller, executive dean of the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences, said: “This ranking simply reinforces our world-class reputation for hospitality, tourism and events, and shows that we offer our students, stimulating and industry-relevant programmes.

“This is why we are very proud to be continuing this tradition and welcome this ranking as recognition of our continued success as a global leader in our field.”

The rankings now cover 46 disciplines in total, highlighting the world’s top-performing universities in each academic area.

University of Surrey subjects appear in 17 of 46 subject tables.

The QS World University Subject Rankings are compiled annually to help prospective students identify the leading universities in a particular subject. They are based upon academic reputation, employer reputation and research impact.
