Abstract
Unite and LSG Sky Chefs, a catering company which provides in-flight services, has signed a trade union recognition agreement which entitles over 100 workers at Manchester Airport to be represented on both an individual and collective basis.
Unite regional coordinating officer, Lawrence Chapple-Gill, said: "We are glad that we have been able to reach this agreement with LSG. We already have similar agreements with the company at Gatwick and Heathrow airports and this completes the circle. "It ensures that across the whole of the LSG operation negotiations on matters like pay, hours, holidays and consultation on other work-related issues will take place with Unite. "A particularly positive aspect is that the vast majority of our members are from black, Asian, ethnic minority and Eastern European communities – proving the point that no matter who you are, where you are from or what language you speak, there is a place for you in Unite, and by working together, we can succeed."
