The event takes place during National Apprenticeship Week to discuss with businesses how the apprenticeship levy transfer works. Employers are finding it hard to spend their apprenticeship levy, with large amounts going unspent in London.
Adele Oxberry, founder of Umbrella Training, said: “As a small business, we completely understand the needs of SMEs in the hospitality sector. This event is aimed at bringing together our business partners – ranging from large levy paying employers and our SME hospitality community – with a view to working together and implementing meaningful apprenticeship programmes without the need to pay a co- contribution.
“Many leading and large employers are proving that corporate social responsibility is a huge part of their people strategy and allows for a wider community to receive these funds without impacting on their purse.
“We are proud to be able to offer this to London businesses with the Greater London Authority and London Progression Collaboration, and believe this is the start of something wonderful with partnerships at the forefront.”
The levy 'gifting' event is being held in response to the 'skills crisis' in the capital that sees people trapped in low skilled and low productivity jobs.
