In the lead up to the King’s Coronation Premier Foods launched an ‘inspirational’ dessert-trolley recipe guide for the celebrations, with a free prize draw to win memory roses to mark the occasion. The guide contained new ideas to elevate classic vintage desserts.
Sarah Robb, foodservice marketing manager at Premier Foods Foodservice, said: “The King’s Coronation was such a historical event, we wanted to help care home chefs create something really special. As home to some of the nation’s best loved dessert brands, it was the perfect opportunity to inspire chefs with ideas and simple swaps that could be used not only for the celebrations, but throughout the year.
“We’ve had some fantastic feedback from the care homes and the winners of the prize draw are delighted with their prizes. The roses are a wonderful reminder of a very special event, that can be enjoyed by both staff and residents.”
To enter the competition, care home chefs had to simply register their details when making their product orders on the Brakes website. Some of the care homes to receive roses included Hollins Park Care Home, Lochbroom House and Ryeview Manor Care Home.
Cathy Amos, head of customer marketing at Brakes, added: “We were delighted to run this special promotion for our customers; the recipe booklet was a fantastic resource that really added value to care home chefs and the roses are being enjoyed by residents across the country.”
