The new Grand Crü is a blend of three speciality grade coffees from Inzá Cauca in Colombia, Fazenda Samambaia in Brazil and Gicherori in Kenya and will be available from 6th June.
Ronan Sayburn, Master Sommelier and head of wine at 67 Pall Mall, said: “I’ve been working with Gayan and UCC Coffee’s specialist team to blend together three single origins to create the new composition.
“When developing a coffee blend you need to consider the individual attributes of each coffee and how they work together – just as you would with a blend of grapes for wine. It’s about creating balance with the different elements to provide a harmonious, delicious product.”
Gayan Munaweera, head of coffee quality and Q grader, UCC Coffee UK & Ireland comments: “Ronan’s ability to taste and identify flavours is second to none. His contribution to the development of our new Grand Crü blend has meant we’ve been able to create something exceptional.
“Its distinct character with notes of orange, spiced biscuit and deep caramel makes it perfect for operators looking to serve something special in the cup.”
