Abstract
Two thirds (66.7%) of workers in the hospitality sector find quitting their job difficult, with 85.7% revealing they have never been taught the correct process for leaving, according to research from CV-Library.

Lee Biggins, founder and managing director of CV-Library, said: “Quitting a job can be uncomfortable, even if you’re leaving on good terms.”

The survey also revealed that the 57.1% would organise a meeting with their employer to leave their job, while 19% would write a formal letter, and 9.5% would do it over the phone.

Biggins said: “Although it can be daunting, it’s important to remain professional at all times, and where possible, meet with your boss in person to discuss your departure.

“If you’re experiencing problems or don’t know how to go about leaving, try to speak with your manager or someone in the HR department - you may find it makes you feel more at ease so you can leave on good terms.”
