Abstract
The University Caterers Organisation (TUCO) has signed the Armed Forces Covenant and has also been awarded a bronze certification for the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

The Armed Forces Covenant (AFC) is a promise that those that serve, or have served in the armed forces and their families, will be treated fairly.

A Defence Employer Recognition Scheme shows that the recipient is delivering tangible support for the Armed Forces community. This could be through employment of veterans and service spouses or the promotion of key awareness days such as Remembrance Day.

Mike Haslin, chief executive of TUCO, said: “We are proud to be supporting the Armed Forces Community, demonstrated by signing the Armed Forces Covenant. We recognise the contribution of those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, and their families, and are keen to support in any way we can to ensure they face no disadvantage when beginning civilian life.”
