The Tokyo College of Sushi & Washoku is known for its rigorous curriculum, which blends traditional Japanese culinary techniques with modern innovations. The courses offered at the London branch will cater to a variety of students, from aspiring chefs to seasoned professionals, providing them with the skills to master both sushi and washoku, which is a set of traditional Japanese meals that focus on balance and harmony of ingredients.
Masaru Watanabe principal at Tokyo College of Sushi and Washoku London, commented: “This launch is a strategic move to bring Japanese culinary education to the West, particularly in a city like London, known for its diverse food culture.
“The college aims to set a new standard for culinary education, filling a gap for those who seek formal training in authentic Japanese cooking without having to travel to Japan. Courses will be taught in English, ensuring accessibility to a broad international audience.
“The institution’s decision to choose London as the site of its first international branch highlights the city's growing reputation as a global culinary hub. As the demand for authentic Japanese cuisine continues to rise, the Tokyo College of Sushi & Washoku London hopes to become a leading authority in the education and promotion of Japanese culinary arts in Europe.”
