UFS is encouraging caterers to decorate a gingerbread house with residents. Care homes have until 3rd January to send photos of their delicious creations, along with a brief description of why residents decided on the theme, to UFS.
Paul Wright, development chef at UFS, said: “What better way to get residents in the Christmas spirit than by getting them involved in a fun and festive activity. We’ve had some great entries already and I’m sure residents will enjoy eating the gingerbread houses after the challenge too – you just have to remember to take a photograph before they tuck in!”
There’s something for everyone that enters, and the top 20 entries will receive a hamper full of goodies and will be entered into a prize draw to win a visit from Jo Wheatley. Jo will bake for the winning care home and enjoy a tea party with residents. Shortlisted homes will also see their entry celebrated on Facebook and in a booklet featuring the best gingerbread houses.
The 20 finalists and overall winner will be announced on 18 January 2016. Care homes can enter by post, email or online, at www.ufs.com/elderlycare
