Abstract
To celebrate National Rice Week (17-23 September), Tilda is hosting a number of social competitions this week encouraging caterers to use speciality varieties.

It comes as company-led research showed that caterers can ‘command a higher price tag’ for dishes made using speciality rice (such as jasmine, Arborio or basmati and wild) – with 43% of consumers prepared to pay ‘up to’ £2 more for a dish that names the rice.

Tilda is hosting daily competitions on Twitter this week, giving caterers the chancfe to win its speciality rice and Love2Shop vouchers.

Head of foodservice, Annette Coggins explained: “Join in our rice celebrations on Twitter to be in with a chance to win speciality rice for your menu and a little treat for yourself too with Love2Shop vouchers up for grabs.

“Caterers looking for ways to shout about their dishes this National Rice Week can visit the hub and download our poster that can be easily personalised, allowing you to effectively promote your premium rice offerings.”

Following its partnership with Mary’s Meals, Tilda will continue to donate 7p of every sale of its brown and white rice purchased on-trade this week.
