Tesco store hosts cook and taste sessions

10th Mar 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
A series of cook and taste sessions will be taking place at the Tesco store on Richmond Drive in Skegness in a bid to encourage people to eat more healthily.
The sessions, run by East Lindsey District Council in conjunction with Tesco, will take place each Friday from 11an to 3pm, starting this week (14 March). If the initiative is proven to be a success, more sessions will be added in the coming weeks. The Council's food for life officer, Martin Walmsley, will demonstrate how healthy eating can be simple and tasty. Tesco has given the Council a sum of £2,000 to support the events. Martin explained how each week will focus on a different type of food: "The idea is to let people know how to prepare healthy interesting meals from scratch. I'm not interested in providing complicated dishes, I believe in doing simple dishes very well using good quality, local ingredients."
