A taste of Asia at Bryanston School

28th May 2008 - 00:00
Abstract
Students at Bryanston School experienced an exotic Asian dining experience provided by school catering company Chartwells, in partnership with the school.
Chartwells national executive chef Andrew Walker joined the catering team based at Bryanston to prepare and present dishes including Teriyaki Salmon with Choy Sum Almonds, Thai Ice Noodle Salad with hot Rose Beef and Honey Pineapples with Minted Palm Sugar. Students also watched as fruit such as apples and bananas were instantly turned into 'ice-cream' using the latest in culinary technology. Andrew Walker commented: "We wanted to show the students at Bryanston that food is exciting! As part of working with young people to help them eat well, it's important to enable them to experiment with new tastes and flavours from different cultures." Mike Thorne, catering manager at Bryanston, continued: "These events are just some of the examples of how we actively encourage pupils to try new things and eat a balanced diet."
