This is its second big business win in recent months – and the company is also celebrating a handful of industry honours.
Talkington Bates will provide breakfast and lunch for residents of all three sites from April 1st. The rolling contract is worth more than £500,000.
Fiona Hopkinson, managing director, Talkington Bates Midlands & Care, said: “We are delighted to have won this business and look forward to a long trading relationship with Retail Trust. The fact that we came out on top in a highly-competitive pitch situation highlights our quality and targeted approach.
“Flexibility is key in the care sector because every site has very specific needs. We go that extra mile for residents by offering a bespoke service that reflects their individual needs by, for example, offering nutritional information and advice. We cater for a range of dietary requirements, taking account of ethnic and cultural food needs.”
It follows another recent business win for the company to provide catering for the Bracknell headquarters of Avis & Budget Rental. The contract, which is worth around £700,000 over three years, is for providing catering for 500 employees based at the Berkshire site through its seven-strong team led by recently appointed chef manager, Ricardo Grech.
The contract caterer was also awarded the Soil Association’s Food for Life Catering Mark and scooped the “Group Operator of the Year” at Lunch Business’ Grab & Go Awards following a Good Egg Award 2012 from Compassion in World Farming.
