Taking place next week - ACE’s annual Ready Stead Cook competition

The Association of Catering Excellence’s (ACE) annual Ready Steady Cook competition is taking place next Thursday (28 September), at East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf.

With teams battling to win the two-heat competition, entrants so far include foodservice chefs from: Bartlett Mitchell, Genuine Dining Company, Peyton and Byrne, Holroyd Howe, BaxterStorey, Vacherin, Lusso, Harbour and Jones, Restaurant Associates, Sodexo, Blue Apple, Lexington, ISS, Good Eating Company and HIT. They will be assessed by judges: Adam Handling, Mike Reid, Daniel Ayton and Connor Blades

Tickets cost £52 +VAT for ACE members and £72 +VAT for non-members and include a glass of wine, street food buffet and supplier tastings. To book, email louise@acegb.org and the full itinerary is listed below:

  • 5pm - doors open for guests
  • 6pm - first cooking heat
  • 6.30-7.30pm - street food buffet
  • 7.30pm - second cooking heat
  • 9pm - parade of chefs
  • 10pm - end

There will also be a raffle to raise money for the Wiggly Worm charity, with prizes such as champagne, cookery books, meal vouchers and more.
