Abstract
A group of 15 supervisors and managers from contract caterers BaxterStorey have completed their NVQ Level 3 Management training with Employer Training Solutions.
The managers were presented with their ILM Management NVQ Level 3 certificates at a celebration event at Westminster Kingsway College (WKC) to mark the end of the programme. Their certificates were presented by College Principal Andy Wilson and Linda Halliday, HR and training director at BaxterStorey and also a WKC governor. The ILM Management NVQ Level 3 programme looks at how managers can achieve specific results by using resources effectively and their responsibility for allocating work to team members, colleagues or contractors. Marta Biela, who works as a deputy catering manager for BaxterStorey at cosmetics company, L'Oreal, said: "I volunteered for this training programme as I wanted to develop my skills and progress within the company. It is a big commitment to complete the course but it has been a good programme." BaxterStorey employee, Nina Freus has completed the management training programme while working full-time as a catering supervisor at Treasury Solicitors. Freus said: "I would really recommend this training programme as it has helped me to progress in work. I have learnt leadership skills and how to work with people. My confidence has grown and I have much better working relationships." Nicole Barber, head of employer training solutions at WKC, added: "The Management and Leadership programme customised for BaxterStorey provided opportunities for personal development for the candidates and led to a positive business impact for the client. With so many of the candidates being identified for internal promotion there is clear evidence that the training solution has provided a return on investment for the employer. "Moving forward, Employer Training Solutions have now developed the programme to include an Apprenticeship framework so as to ensure we continue to support BaxterStorey to develop their workforce to meet their business objectives."
