SSP secures 11 year contract worth £133m at Nice Airport

Abstract
SSP has secured a deal to run ten outlets at Nice Airport, which will include Jamie Oliver’s first Jamie’s Italian restaurant in France, estimated around £133million (€180m).

The deal with see the company take over the operation of two units in terminal one from this month, and the additional outlets across both terminals during the course of 2015 and in 2017. Amongst the new outlets is a restaurant called L’Estivale, created as part of a two-year partnership with Michelin starred chef Mauro Colagreco.

Jamie’s Italian has 35 restaurants in the UK, but will make its French debut at Nice Airport designed around a table-service restaurant, a bar and a grab-and-go area. Joe and the Juice will also operate out of both terminals serving coffee, juice and more, adding to its existing airport sites in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

A pop-up called From Nice with Love will feature an ever-changing selection of culinary offers that reflect the best of the art of living on the Cote d’Azur, including gourmet sandwiches and a cocktail bar.

SSP is a food travel caterer that operates in 29 counties in over 125 airports and 270 rail stations.
