Abstract
F&B travel operator, SSP America (part of the global SSP Group), is opening six new restaurants at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX) as part of its 10-year contact there.

Launching at terminal three throughout the month (January), passengers can expect a mix of local and chef-driven brands, including neighbourhood eatery Original ChopShop and chef Mark Tarbell’s, Tarbell’s Tavern.

Scott Welding, SSP America vice president of business development, commented: “SSP America is proud to open its newest collection of restaurants, featuring many local culinary heroes.

“Sense of place, taste and commitment to the community combined with optimum choice for the passenger and exceptional customer service, are the hallmarks of SSP America’s new contract with PHX.”

The six new restaurants include:

  • Überrito Fresh Mex - serving burritos, bowls, salads and nachos,
  • Tarbell’s Tavern - ‘fresh-forward, chef-driven’ plates in a fast and casual environment from chef Mark Tarbell’s
  • Christopher’s – from restaurateur Christopher Gross (James Beard award winner), Christopher’s specializes in modern gourmand plates
