So far, the trekkers have collectively raised over £125,000 in support of the work of The Springboard Charity which will help at least 80 more young people, unemployed adults and those facing barriers to work into sustainable employment in the hospitality, leisure and tourism industry, as well as the difference already made in Peru.
Anne Pierce, Springboard CEO, who led the Peru expedition, said, “Springboard’s annual treks and community projects are fast becoming a much valued and sought after enriching experience for those who take up the challenge.
“Those involved are able to test themselves mentally and physically, meet like-minded individuals from the industry, and give back to others less fortunate than themselves. The annual trek is an important source of funds for Springboard and has a major impact on people’s lives.”
