Abstract
The Springboard Charity has launched Afternoon Tea Week, running from 10-16 August, to raise funds to ‘transform the futures of young and vulnerable people in crisis or poverty’.

The campaign is being supported by Prue Leith, who said: “Springboard is a great charity, supporting the hospitality industry and helping young and unemployed people, including those that have recently lost their jobs, of which there are far too many at the moment.

“If you’d like to help, how about joining in with Springboard’s Afternoon Tea Week fundraiser? It will be a lot of fun and do a lot of good.”

The Springboard Charity offers a range of initiatives to help individuals overcome barriers to employment by providing them with work placements and motivational training.

Ideas of how to raise money during Afternoon Tea Week include:

  • Hosting a garden party with family and friends and asking them to make a donation
  • Selling cakes
  • Hosting a virtual afternoon tea party
  • Hold a ‘bake off’ with your work colleagues or friends
