Abstract
The Springboard Charity, which helps young and unemployed people into careers in hospitality, has raised over £82,000 (including gift aid) during its ‘virtual race around the world’ fundraiser.
At the start of July, 24 teams embarked on the challenge of getting as far around the world as possible, whilst visiting the seven wonders along the way. The 2023 edition of the virtual race raised £18,000 more for charity than the 2022 version.
Participants could walk, run, swim or cycle to gain their miles, which were then combined with the members in their teams to move their team along the virtual map.
The money raised will go towards supporting young, unemployed and disadvantaged people to find jobs in the hospitality industry. If you haven’t already donated and would like to, the JustGiving page is open until the end of August. You can donate here.
