Abstract
Ten teams from the South’s hospitality, leisure and tourism industry are being formed to take part in an action packed outdoor activity day on 26th May at Hengistbury Head Outdoor Activity Day courtesy of Brockenhurst College.
Hospitality Action, the UK's No 1 charity for the hotel and catering industry hopes to raise £4000 and teams currently signing up include Marriot Hotels, Menzies, Brockenhurst College and the Chewton Glen. Organisers Charlotte Hockey and John McArthur say "this is a great opportunity for local hotel groups to get out, get their staff involved, challenged, motivated and raise money for Hospitality Action in a stunning location over looking Christchurch Harbour." The wet challenges include photo orienteering where the team is given five photos and they have to match where they are taken by looking at the map and take an identical digital photo either in a rowing boat, sailing boat or kayak out on the water. Other activities include raft building with a race and timed courses on big canoes. There will also be a chance to learn to perform the Haka, build a bicycle and experience the more regular activities of archery and climbing, followed by a BBQ and awards in the evening.
