Abstract
Sodexo has won a five year contract worth more than £2 million to provide catering and cleaning services at Banff and Buchan College of Further Education in Fraserburgh, Aberdeenshire.
The contract, which has an annual turnover of just over £450,000, is a first for the college, which until now has never outsourced its catering or cleaning requirements. The 12,000 square metre site will benefit from Sodexo's introduction of new, more efficient micro fibre cleaning technology. In addition to providing cleaning services, Sodexo's 27 on-site staff will operate a retail shop and gallery café bar, serving Costa Coffee, and a main refectory for the college's 5,000 students and staff, which the company will also be refurbishing. Sodexo's food offer for further and higher education, 'theunity', includes breakfast, lunch, hot meals, snacks-on-the-go and coffees and pastries, ensuring that students and staff at the College will have a number of convenient options at any time of day. Banff and Buchan College facilities manager Gordon MacDonald said: "Sodexo's bid stood out from all the others. We were very impressed with the quality of the sales development team, the focus on customer service and imaginative refurbishment proposal, and look forward to developing a successful working relationship in the months ahead."
