Sodexo staff members achieve NVQ qualifications in nutrition

19th Jan 2011 - 00:00
Abstract
A total of 18 Sodexo staff members have achieved NVQ qualifications in nutrition, as part of the company's 'Nutrition Champions' programme.
The members, from Sodexo's education segment, were selected for the programme after demonstrating their commitment to health and well-being issues during a thorough selection process. The NVQ Level 2 in nutrition qualification gives them the knowledge to help promote 'Healthwise' – the company's nutrition, well-being and lifestyle philosophy. The team received specialist training from Wan Mak, head of nutrition and dietetics, Sodexo UK and Ireland. During their course they explored the principles of healthy eating, considered the needs of a variety of individuals and used food and nutrition information to plan a healthy diet. Mak said: "Full credit to our Champions. Their success is down to their hard work and self-motivation. They now have the knowledge and tools to understand more about nutrition. Guided by the dietitians in the company, they will play a crucial role in helping us communicate and reinforce the company's commitment to nutrition, health and well-being." Healthwise is part of the Sodexo sustainability strategy 'Better Tomorrow Plan'.
