In 2019 Sodexo has been ‘committed’ to providing consumers access to a healthier lifestyle. Sodexo recently opened a Crussh healthy food outlet at City, University of London’s main building in Northampton Square, London.
A spokesperson for City, University of London said: “Over the last five years Sodexo has proven itself to be a valuable partner to the university.
“With its global resource and expertise in delivering catering services for other leading business schools around the world we are excited to see how Sodexo will transform the food services for this part of our university.”
The global services company will be relaunching the main restaurant and it will feature Planted! a street food which will provide a 100% plant based meat alternative made from soybeans, salt and water. Starbucks coffee will be available from the University’s Courtyard Café.
The ‘innovative’ social enterprise Change Please will remain at the university. Change Please is a campaign that supports and ‘empowers’ the homeless community by providing them with barista training. Sodexo will also introduce kiosk-ordering points for Dough & Go Pizzas to decrease queues at peak times.
Simon Knight, managing director of universities at Sodexo UK & Ireland said: “We are delighted to extend our contract with City. We will be making some exciting changes to the existing services and restaurants but also looking at creating a catering service at Cass Business School which mirrors its standing as a one of the best business schools in the world.”
The new contract will also see Sodexo extend its services to Cass Business School’s Bunhill Row and Aldersgate sites where it will cater for the business school students, staff and visitors. This will include street food-style menus and cuisines from around the world.
